Thank you to all of you who have donated to our Feed My Starving Children project.  As of this morning, St. Mark’s has raised enough money to provide 2,984 meals!

This is our last week of fundraising.  Donations can be left in the designated offering plates, designated in the service offering plates or labeled and left in the church office.   Please make your donations by April 1st.

Every contribution makes a significant impact!  Thank you!

Feed My Starving Children project

St. Mark’s will be participating in the “Feed My Starving Children” project this year. St. Mark’s will be helping pack food Sunday, April 7th. We are also helping by raising money.

One fund raising project is fashioned after “Flat Stanley” used by the school system. Our children, Joey and Ruthie, are here and waiting to join you for any adventures and excursions you may have! Joey and Ruthie, our two children representing starving children of the world, are waiting to be checked out. (A special thank-you to Hannah Bohn for her artistic talents!) They are located on the bulletin board by the office. Please consider taking them along with you. By remembering them and including them, you can symbolically include a child who is living in poverty. Whatever you might want to spend on Joey or Ruthie can be donated through our church for the Feed My Starving Children fundraiser. Please be sure to designate your contribution for Feed My Starving Children. A mere $0.22 will provide a meal for a child.

If today doesn’t work for you, Joey and Ruthie have appointment calendars posted on the bulletin board near the office. You can reserve them if needed. Take along their journals if you’d like to share what you’ve done together. Snap a photo or two. Imagine the joy of taking along an excited child. “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these, my brethren, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:40.

You can also make donations by directing them to the church office. There are also designated offering plates for this project in the narthex on Sunday mornings and in the fellowship hall Wednesday evenings during Lent.

The sign-up sheet for helping package food for the Feed My Starving Children project will be available in the narthex. We have reserved thirty spots for St. Mark’s workers on Sunday, April 7, from 4:30-6:30. Many hands make light the work. Join us.

Ash Wednesday schedule change

Our morning Ash Wednesday worship has been changed to 10:30 a.m.  The J.O.Y. group will have their lunch following this earlier service.     This change was made due to the 2:00 p.m. funeral of St. Mark’s long time member, Marv Birkholz.

The evening worship will be held at 6:45 p.m., as scheduled.   Sanctuary choir rehearsal will follow the evening worship.

Confirmation students should plan to attend worship and meet briefly after worship for a discussion.

Please contact the office at 772-4807 if you have any questions.
