Last week, we had our first packing event for the summer.  We take part in the St. Joseph’s Social Care’s summer in the park backpack program.  Every Friday they send the kids home with a bag of food containing two meals to assure that they have food for the weekend.

St. Mark’s helps out by packing that food.  We had such a great group of St. Mark’s members, Target employees and members of Augustana Lutheran helping us.  We packed 1400 bags in 45 minutes!  It is one of our favorite programs every year.

We will pack again June 19th and July 17th.  What a wonderful program to help fight hunger in our community!
