Boy Scout Sunday

February 8th is Boy Scout Sunday.

Scout Sunday is a chance for faith-based chartered organizations to celebrate and recognize Scouting and for Scout units to show their appreciation for the religious institution that supports their unit.

This Sunday, at churches nationwide, you’ll see Scouts and Scouters in uniform greeting the congregation, participating in worship services, earning religious awards and conducting service projects to benefit their place of worship.

To honor this anniversary of the founding of the Boy Scout program, Troop 130 will be serving coffee and goodies after our 9:30 worship.

Boy Scout Troop 130 is sponsored by St. Mark’s and is led by our member, Tom Henderson.

Rally Sunday!

This Sunday is Rally Sunday at St. Mark’s.

Our Spark Sunday School will kick off their new session at 10:45 a.m. September 7th.    Registrations will be taken, games will be played and special treats will be enjoyed.  Be sure to come and see your friends and meet some new friends.

This Sunday is also the beginning of our participation in the Kids+ Bridging the Gap program.  Our Sunday School and the Mission Committee are teaming up to collect food items for this program which is administered by the Northlands Rescue Mission. We are looking for donation of food items to be used for this program that supplies at-risk hungry school children.  Backpacks of food are sent home on weekends and during school breaks when kids are not provided a meal during school.

Last year we collected 1001 items.  Our goal this year is to collect 1500 food items.  Abiding Memorials will be matching funds based on $.50 per item up to $500.00.

Please place your donations in the boxes by the Sunday School bulletin board.

The following food items are being requested:  Individual cereal boxes and oatmeal, granola bars, fruit/veggie cups, crackers, chips, pretzels, juice boxes, cocoa packets, and canned meals (ravioli, soups, etc.)  DUE TO ALLERGY RISKS, DONATIONS SHOULD ALL BE NUT FREE.

Weird Animals – Where Jesus’ Love is One-of-a-Kind

We are currently taking registration for our Vacation Bible School to be held July 20th – 23rd.  The theme this year is, “Weird Animals – Where Jesus’s Love is One-of-a-Kind”.

VBS week is one of the most exciting weeks of the entire year!   Children 4 yrs. old – 5th grade are welcome to come and learn about God’s word and God’s love.

God filled the world with a lot of crazy creatures…including you! When kids feel weird, different, or even lost in a crowd—nothing compares to the extraordinary love of Jesus. At Weird Animals vacation Bible school, kids experience God’s Word in surprising and unforgettable ways! Each day, leaders reinforce one simple Bible truth—which makes it easy for kids to remember and apply to real life!

There will be a family supper served at 5:30 pm.  The session will run 6-8:30 pm.

Contact the church office at 772-4807  for more information or to receive a registration form.

Don’t miss this fun filled week at St. Mark’s!
